Housed inside a beautifully restored 102-year-old building in the heart of Chatom, Alabama, The Mercantile is more than a barbecue restaurant—it’s a gathering place for the community. My goal was to capture the warmth, history, and hospitality that make the space feel inviting, from the craftsmanship of the building itself to the moments shared around the table. Through photography, film, and web design, this project was about helping future guests experience The Mercantile long before they walked through its doors.

Memphis, TN
Foodscape is a movement rooted in a simple but powerful idea: every neighborhood deserves access to fresh food. Through edible landscapes, community gardens, and a renewed appreciation for growing our own crops, farmer Bertram Williams Jr. envisions a future where fruit hangs from trees, vegetables flourish in front yards, and no community is defined as a food desert.
Photographed on a farm in Memphis, this collection documents both the quiet beauty of the land and the purpose behind it—capturing a vision that encourages people to reconnect with the soil, cultivate their own food, and reimagine what a neighborhood can become.
